San Lorenzo Confirms Key Players' Season-Ending Injuries

Buenos Aires, March 12 (NA) - San Lorenzo has confirmed the injuries to Gastón Hernández and Ezequiel Cerutti. Both players were substituted in the draw against Boca for the Clausura Tournament, and after medical examinations, it was confirmed that both suffered torn cruciate ligaments in their right and left knees, respectively. According to Argentine News Agency, both players were considered key pieces and captains of Damián Ayude's team, and they will be off the pitch for the remainder of the season as their recovery will take about eight months.

History of their knee injuries Hernández, the team captain, had to leave the field during the second half due to a bad movement that resulted in his third ligament tear. For the defender, this episode represents a repeat of a tear in the same knee he had already suffered in 2021 during his time at San Martín de San Juan, and again in 2023.

Cerutti, who had already been replaced in the 23rd minute of the first half due to an unfortunate movement, was confirmed to have an identical injury to the one he suffered two years ago, although previously it had been on his left side.

'El Ciclón's options to sign new players Since FIFA's Transfer Matching System (TMS) is already closed, San Lorenzo is limited in its search for substitutes for the injured Ezequiel Cerutti and Gastón Hernández. Under this scenario, the club will have ten days and can only sign players from the local scene or those whose pass they already own.
